BV Guides and Databases

BVMarketData
Private Company Sales Transaction Databases
https://www.bvresources.com/
Free "Visitor Search" allows users to search DealStats, BIZCOMPS, and FactSet MergerStat for private company sales transaction data by SIC Code or NAICS Code using the following codes:
SIC Code 332 and 336 - Iron And Steel and Nonferrous Foundries
NAICS Code 33151 - Ferrous Metal Foundries
Types of establishments included in these codes
Gray iron foundries - establishments that produce cast iron products using a specific type of iron known as gray iron. Gray iron is produced by melting iron and adding carbon and silicon to create a castable material that is used to produce a variety of products.
Ductile iron foundries - establishments that produce cast iron products using ductile iron. Ductile iron is created by adding magnesium to molten iron, which causes the carbon in the iron to form spherical nodules rather than flakes, resulting in a stronger and more ductile material.
Steel investment foundries - establishments that use the lost wax casting process to produce steel products. This process involves creating a wax pattern of the desired product, coating it in ceramic material, and then melting the wax to leave a mold. Molten steel is then poured into the mold to create the final product.
Steel foundries (except investment) - establishments that produce steel products through various casting methods, such as sand casting and die casting. These products can range from small components to large structural elements.
Stainless steel foundries - establishments that produce stainless steel products using various casting methods, such as sand casting and investment casting. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, carbon, and at least 10.5 percent chromium, which gives it its characteristic resistance to corrosion and staining. Stainless steel foundries may also produce other alloys of stainless steel that include additional elements, such as nickel or molybdenum, for specific properties.
Nonferrous metal foundries (except die-castings) - establishments that produce a variety of products using nonferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and magnesium. These products can include castings, forgings, and extrusions, among others.
Sample reports with detailed transaction data and valuation multiples are available free online.
